Below you will find just a few of the baskets we have been blessed to provide due to so many supporters and several fund raisers. We could not have done it without anyone involved.

Praises go out to God, the BLT Ladies, Reedy Fork Baptist Church, Pat and Delbert Sims, Darlene Jackson, Susan McLauchlin, Susan Raiford, Tranquility Day Spa, Judy Smith, this barely touches the surface of the people and organizations who have touched BLT and made our journey possible. We have so many constant supporters, who purchase from each fund raiser, donate to our cause for fundraisers, yard sales etc. We are continuing to grow and as we approach our 1 year Birthday we anticipate next year being even bigger and better. 

Boogie For Becky

April 2011 - BLT was invited to celebrate and raise money for a lovely lady named Becky and BLT not only presented her with a basket for her own comfort we were also blessed enough to be able to donate a basket to be auctioned off to benefit Becky and help with some of her expenses. It was such a pleasure to speak to her and she was so happy we are involved with helping cancer patients. We continue to follow up with Becky and she is doing well. We love comforting our "BLT Soldiers" and making new friends at the same time.

BLT participates in the Summerfield Founders Day Festival

Saturday May 14th - our first big fundraiser of the year and we were setting up at this fabulous event in Summerfield NC. The Founders Day Festival 2011. We had prepared with new items to sell, several items for raffle donated generously by our friends and local businesses. We were ready! We had several to visit our tent and it wasn't long before the rains came... it didn't discourage us we were there for the long haul. I mean if we left because of a little rain how can we support someone fighting the battle of their life. Our children had a "ball" literally throwing blow up balls to each other in the rain and laughing hysterically.

Although the weather was not perfect, it was a beautiful day, we met a lot of very kind and caring people. We cried with a few, laughed with a lot and told our story to many. This weekend we will be setting up in a new venue - a Yard Sale benefit for Rankin Elementary School in Greensboro NC. We expect a good turn out - rain or shine BLT will be there with open arms. We hope you will come and support us, support Rankin and most of all support our BLT Soldiers fighting this battle and together we can remind them they are never alone - we are BLT - Battling Life Together.

Spring has Sprung

We are a group of ladies with a mission, a goal, a journey. Will you join us? We aspire to impact the lives of those around us, leave our name in the history books (not just in those we wrote in at School!). How do you want to make the world a better place? You can join us, help us so we may support others. We have a couple of events coming up and if you or someone you know has a business, talent, skill or has the desire to give towards our cause please contact one of us. Another Day in the Life of BLT

As we continue on our journey to become an official Non Profit Organization and reaching out to so many in need... we are finding there are battles all around us. We have been blessed to meet some extremely special people and follow them through their Battle for Life. The BLT Ladies because of our faithful supporters and confidence in each other have successfully provided comfort packages to 9 individuals from different areas, different ages and all around different situations. Each a story of their own; some receiving the best news some hearing devastating results; all still Battling Life Together. Thank you to each one of you for praying for us and supporting us as we do Gods work and be the best that we can in His name.

Be on the lookout for new information and venues to meet the BLT Ladies and support us further as we move forward to become the best Non Profit we can be and join together with our brothers and sisters of the community and touch the lives of many more!

Operation Christmas Child ~ Part Two

Then our next mission in .. Operation Christmas Child was to fill the pantry of this family. What good would gifts for Christmas be if your children were hungry? We collected a few things on our own, but nothing near what I wanted to take to this family. They had been through so much and to have this Mother know that she could feed her children without any fear of what she would feed them at the next meal. The next step was to contact the director of the Baptist Women Group and she was so happy to help.

It was announced in church that Sunday that the next Sunday we would be collecting for this family. Prayers began  that God would send lots of food. When people showed up that collection Sunday for Sunday school and then church, the donations just kept adding up, and up and up ..  As always, God had answered my prayers. We had collected enough food for this family to pack their pantry. This is what Christmas is supposed to be all about.

Again, Supporters had come to the aid of this family. Thank you Hillcrest Baptist Church for signing up to help this family. You are precious people, and the members of BLT thank you for your support.

Just so you know ... We collected 12 boxes of food. We are all .. "Battling Life Together".

Operation Christmas Child ~ Part One

As we sat in our October meeting, it really was heavy on my heart that we needed to help a family with Christmas. We talked about it and we didn't know anyone that was dealing with cancer the needed help for Christmas. We asked our friends and family, we all prayed about it, and after three weeks we got our answer to prayer. We had been sent a family who has a little girl (age 3) who had been fighting cancer since she was even younger. This little girl had an older sister, as well.

We got busy asking our BLT supporters for help. As always you blew us away with how fabulous you all are. So much so that when I would talk with Julie about what we had collected, it brought me to tears many times. Because of the amazing BLT supporters this family would no longer have to worry about how to make Christmas happen for their two little girls. They could focus on helping their youngest child fight cancer. YOU, Our supporters removed that burden for them, and every member of BLT is so thankful to you!

The members of BLT want to take the time now to thank anyone who donated anything to our Operation Christmas Child. YOU totally rock, like no one else!! God is gracious! We are all .. "Battling Life Together"!

BLT Comfort Basket

As a non-porift (non-profit status pending) we want to help make a difference in any way that we can. We got word that someone that we all grew up with was dealing with cancer through his lovely wife. We got busy collecting things to put together a comfort basket. We try to do them in the cancer color that the patient is fighting, but that isn't always possible, especially if someone is dealing with more than one cancer at a time. The basket shown in the picture here just happens to be purple.

We are always collecting items to put together these comfort baskets, so anytime that you would like to help, and don't know how .. just grab some chewing gum, peppermints, small cans of ginger ale, or even some comfortable socks and donate them to us. We would be truly thankful.

We are happy to report that the person who received the basket pictures here is getting well .. kicking the heck out of cancer, and should only have a couple more treatments left. God is a gracious!! We are all .. "Battling Life Together".
